What is included with registration fee? Your entry
fee includes a 5 of 6 day lift pass (that is good for the Nordic trails as well), all of the coaching and racing during the
week, the Monday night Can-Am mixer, the Banquet on Friday night, Apres ski beer Sunday-Thursday at Long John's and whatever
goodies we can gather for door prizes and registration packets.
What
is NOT included? Your lodging, meals and beverages other than the apres ski beers. if
you have guests who are not participating in the on-the-hill events, you MUST make arrangements for them to attend the banquet
on Friday-space is LIMITED! (there is an additional fee for guests that have not registered)
Are
there any activities after skiing? YES! There are several good restaurants right in
the village. The Saloon has a large dance floor and usually offers more current music styles. The COPS group usually 'takes
over' Long John's Pub for the week. The Silver Star staff put together a variety show for guests one evening,
there is night skiing (nordic and downhill). The ice skating pond and Tube-town (inner tube hill) are open until
9pm. There are horse drawn sleigh rides that can include dinner at a cabin in the woods. The National High
Altitude Training Center is located in the village, there is a weight room, climbing wall and a Spa located in the building.
What if I am traveling alone-or don't have enough to fill a room?
Post something early in the guestbook, there is almost always someone looking for extras to fill a room.
If all else fails, there is a SameSun hostel on the mountain that is very affordable.
What
about the weather/temperature? The best answer is...come prepared for anything!
Although we have never had a bad week at Silver Star, we have had some days of challenging weather.
Remember to bring layers and extra gloves/mittens. There are shops in the village that sell pretty much
anything that you need.
